Editor's Letter

@SimonGiddings

Another month has crept up on us, and with it brings another issue of the Spartan. This month we’ve got a great collection of articles for your enjoyment, written by our amazing writers.

As always, Zulekha Afzal has put together a great music review with local band Bite the Buffalo, as well as writing about the Supajam competition, which has just launched. The competition, which is completely free to enter, gives unsigned acts a chance to play with acts such as The Mystery Jets and Rizzle Kicks at two amazing festivals this summer, and is well worth taking a look at.

Emily Bray, Tom Chivers and Katie Amos have served up three great cultural articles this month which are sure to go down well. Emily tackles the debate surrounding Fresher’s week, Tom looks at the BSU Student Elections and Katie shows us what we shouldn’t be missing in Bath this month.

Finally, in a break from tradition, instead of having a film review, or Cheapskate’s Guide to… article, we have instead tackled what books to read, and more importantly, what books not to in the Anti-Reading list.  To round this all off, we have our resident fresher telling us all about rogue post-its and green body paint.

Once again, this month, the Spartan is trying to write about the things that matter and are interesting to you, and hopefully through the progression of the year, our skills will get better and better.

Until next month,

Jenny
