Editor's Letter

So, we are fully into the New Year now.

For most of us, this doesn’t mean a whole lot, except for the fact that we’re back at uni, and back stressing about the upcoming exams, essays and assignments that seemed so far away back in December.

As well as this, the majority of us have already gone and broken our New Year Resolutions and generally we’re feeling pretty fed up with the prospect of another two months of freezing temperatures with no festivities to mull the pain.

Rest easy however, as the Spartan is back and better than ever, with all our writers feeling thoroughly refreshed after their holiday breaks.

In this month’s issue, we’ll be tackling the problem of the January blues head on, pepping you up and giving you some great ways to keep happy and clappy! On top of this, we also have our resident film reviewer Sam Shelton back on board, and this month he’s giving you a great round up of the films set to release in 2012.

Following on from this, Zulekha Afzal has written a fantastic review of a Moles showcase night, and we have another Fresher’s view for you to peruse. Throwing into the mix a couple of light-hearted articles, we have the Cheapskate’s guide to hot chocolate, to warm the cockles of your heart, and an article dispelling the rumors surrounding the 2012 phenomenon, to ease your end-of-the-world woes.

January may be the month to be better, do better, and try harder, but here at the Spartan, we’d rather just get through the month in one, relatively happy, piece, and hopefully with the articles we’ve got for you, we’ll be seeing you next month!

Until then, keep those heads up!

Jenny
